"Great sound out of the box. Bass is great but could maybe use some eq depending on how noticeable you want you bass to be. Wouldn’t mind if treble were also clearer and sharper too. But it’s great for video games. For sure."
"it's heavy but i do not mind that the cups are very comfortable on my head and not much clamp force. for music and watching stuff it has a very good sound compare to my focal clear mg pro. but in gaming there is issue for detailing hard to pinpoint location of the enemies. also wish they had better system for swapping cups. if it was very detail would have give a 5 start."
"Coming from a Maxwell 1 and Maxwell 2 I was wondering if I should try these just to see if there was anything missing. I own the Maxwells and tried the LCD-GX recently. When I got the LCD-X I was surprised at how easy they were to drive and the level of detail that was able to be extracted from music. Me and my wife sat back and listened to music having fun hearing sounds that we never heard before from other headphones or speaker systems. I like them so much that I don’t think I can return them. I have an extensive hifiman collection and the value proposition with the amount of articulation and clarity for the price is surreal with Audeze. I was concerned that the bass would not be enough and I can tell you that they are more than enough. This is not a sponsored review. This is a real review from an actual owner. I don’t regret my decision to go with the LCD-x. I actually use them to game with now due to the incredible detail retrieval."

"LCD-X is a relatively affordable audiophile level piece of equipment that any one who likes to work with audio or to be entertained by audio should consider trying these out - works on all devices due to the low impedance but I paired them with a strong headphone amp regardless. Headband causes some discomfort during long sessions in the form of slightly feeling pain as it pushes down on top of my head. In my opinion it should have some form of padding, now it's just a small slice of leather or pleather covering the metal arch going over your head. . Well not sure. . I would only consider swapping these to Sennheiser HD 880S - I demo them when I was buying these LCD's and quite liked them. Maybe one day? Earpads are at the end of their life so I need to order new ones, the package I bought was leather free but definitely going for leather now and slightly concerned about the adhesives not coming off or sticking to the headphones/drivers after they have been replaced. I like others like Sennheiser more in the sense that the pads physically click in to the phones rather than being glued to them. But every method comes with it's pros and cons probably. I love the soundstage for gaming, movies, music and they work perfectly for anything you can think of. Except being low profile and quiet when other people stay around, they are open back so others will hear what you are up to. Imaging is really good, can separate instruments, audio FX, directional sounds in games and movies, so well. . I truly recommend and love to listen to these every time as much as the last one. Thankfully they sell and stock up on replacement earpads and headbands as they wear out within a few years."

"Got interested in these after having issues with mix translation and hearing everyone rave about them on forums and seeing pros all speak highly of these headphones. Decided to buy a pair and once i mixed a song on them it was the first time my mix translated perfectly to all of my 7 headphones from major companies, my macbook speakers and monitors. Only needed to adjust levels by a hair. Had many random translation issues using sennheisers before as my main pair and now I've got no issues. Audeze LCD-X is the real deal."

"I use them to mix music. Cubase 14 pro, Steinberg UR44C interface. I have been using ATH-M50 and AKG K340 headphones prior to this. These are the best headphones I have ever owned. The only other open back headphones I own are AKG K340's. They are a bit heavy but they are totally comfortable. The cable connection choice at first seems odd, it is not, I have yet to have the problem of the cable getting in the way or being a problem, it reminds you nicely it's there. I do warn that for the first few weeks of use they will have you questioning things about your mixes to my ear they are flat and unflattering thus some of your prior choices may be rethought. I have not done any serious listening on other systems to my mixes yet. The open back design did have the standard drawback of hearing things like the metronome click in an acoustic guitar track due to the mic picking it up. So for tracking maybe not the answer. I will be buying a pair of Audeze LCD-S20's for tracking. I am all in on the Audeze experience. They are great headphones. One last note. The Steinberg interface and most interfaces of this type have a headphone power amp that is at the low end (bare minimum) of the power requirements for the LCD-X headphones and it is noticeable. I will be upgrading to a headphone DAC for critical mixing. Buy them, you won't be disappointed."
"I decided to order the LCD-X Headphones directly from their website. After submitting the order I immediately realized that my billing address was correct, but the shipping address had mistakenly been automatically set to an old address by my browser, far from where I meant to have them shipped. I looked for an option to correct this mistake on the website but there wasn't one, so I sent an email to Audeze support. Unfortunately, the Headphones had already been sent out via UPS, who sent me an email instructing me to pay them an extra 550. 00 for some sort of "fees" (on top of the shipping cost). I had a lot of communication problems with both UPS and Audeze and my stress levels were high as I tried to patiently wait for someone to help me solve what could have been a very easy problem to avoid if only there was a way to correct the order address sooner. To try to make a long story short, Tim and Lily from Audeze came through in the end and I got my headphones with no other hassles, and took care of shipping and returning the first order, so a big thanks to both of them! Also, UPS is terrible. PS: Please update the website to allow for east order cancelation and address corrections! Love the Headphones so far!"
