A subtle improvement over the stock headband.
"Although by no means a "must-have" modification for the LCD-XC model headphones I own, the carbon fiber headband helps with the overall weight by being slightly lighter than the stock version (37g vs 58g) and looks great, matching the closed-back covers. The unexpected bonus though, was that it makes my LCD-XCs fit my head better due (I think) to the better flexibility of the carbon fiber. Overall, it was a noticeable improvement in comfort for me and I'm quite happy with the headband."

Great fit better than original
"Purchased LCD headphones 4-5 years ago. The fake leather ear cup pads started shedding. Purchased new real leather ear cups and carbon fiber head band. Much better than the original ear cups and headbands from fit sound and comfort perspectives. AUDEZE Should Dump the fakes. They damage AUDEZE customer satisfaction and willingness to be repeat customer and reference."

Disappointing, Cheap-Feeling Downgrade
"This headband was a major disappointment. For something advertised as a carbon-fiber “upgrade,” it looks nowhere near premium in person — the finish feels cheap and doesn’t match the LCD-X aesthetic at all. It actually made the headphones look worse. Comfort was also inferior. The supposed weight reduction is so tiny it’s meaningless; it didn’t feel lighter or more balanced in any way. The stock steel headband is noticeably better in both build quality and comfort. For this price, this should feel like a real enhancement. Instead, it felt like a downgrade. I returned it immediately for a full refund."

Carbon Fiber can not be adjusted
"I appreciate the lightness of the headband but unlike the metal headbands these can not be adjusted. Unfortunately the yokes are not universal and some of the Audeze headphones weigh more than others(I tried these on the 2024 XC) so without the headband fitting properly it can absolutely destroy the sound and be painful. For me with this headband there is not enough clamping force for the headphones to remain in place due to their weight and the headphones themselves actually pull the tops of my ears downwards which becomes painful after about 10 minutes. The work around is to get a hand towel, fold it and place it between the band and your head so that the cups are not resting on your ears and so you can create a proper seal. The metal headbands can be bent so even though they weigh more it might still be better for you to not upgrade to the carbon fiber. I can use this on my LCD-GX(bought them in 2021 I think) because the yokes have more depth so they sit better and they are not as heavy so the clamping works better as well but for the XC the yokes do not have enough depth and the headband does not adjust at all."

Ergonomic improvement
"The weight reduction is nice, but relatively negligible. What's great about this headband is that it seems to dig I think significantly less than the stock metal headband on my Lcd-XC. The stock headband always generated a Hotspot on top of my head. Also, the adjustment rods actually stay locked into place significantly better with this that the stock. I use these while working and have to move one side off my ear to hear fairly often. Stock, I had to adjust the rods quite often. Now I only end up adjusting them maybe once over the course of the day."

I sincerely wish that I had bought sooner
"I don't write reviews as a rule, but this headband is a serious improvement for me. I added these to my ancient OG Xs. I can't believe my LCD Xs sound this good against my newer phones. I originally loved the sound, but hated the feel -- heavy and uncomfortable after short periods. I rarely listened to them. Cut to the chase -- I love these headphones now and wear them a lot for extended periods when I get lost in the music. . . . . . with no discomfort. I have them on now as I write. I used to snatch them off as soon as the music stopped. I have been listening to a lot of Jazz and find the timbre and response amazing. This headband is perfect for my (perfect) head -- so your experience may differ. I thought the price was high until I felt the improvement. Solid 5 stars."

Gilding The Lily .
"The LCD Carbon Fiber Headband is in essence guiding the lily of a phenomenal headphone. Tho, there’s only a 30g difference in the weight (reduced) that may not be noticeable..what is noticeable is the reduced clamp force…it really takes advantage of the plushness of the ear cups ..and makes them very comfortable. Now, is it worth the price..that’s for you to decide…but given that there’s only a few upgrades available for in my case I run the LCDX 2021 Creators Edition..for me it was the finishing touch ."

Excellent quality
"Quality of the band is great. However, it still has the issue of settling which causes the band to rest on the top of your head through the leather creating a hot spot."
