So we thought we'd tell that story by helping you get to know some of those artists a little bit better through a series of interviews.
Meet Fabrizio Sotti, the guitarist, composer, producer and songwriter whose numerous musical credits span everywhere from Bebop to Hip Hop. Fabrizio reached out to us at the NAMM show, and we couldn't be more excited that he agreed to this brief interview!

Can you pick out any favorites from your work that you're particularly proud of?
"I would say that my favorite work is always the next album or song I’m going to make lol! Having had a 30 years career at this point, I would feel uncomfortable to mention only some of the work I have done. I’m proud of everything that I have done, I always try to do the best I can under any given circumstance with honesty and integrity. But I consider my Album “A Few Possibilities” a very unique one."
What's the best place for those new to your work to become familiar with what you do?
"iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Youtube etc…Type my name you will find my work."

How would you define your main role on most of the projects you work on?
"I have always had two careers, one as a jazz guitarist/solo artist and one as a producer and songwriter. In a lot of projects I have done I’m involved in all of those capacities."
How did you get started in music?
"I first started playing and studying piano with my grandmother at first when I was 5 years old and then I switched the guitar at age 9."
Can you briefly describe a moment of frustration from your past work, and what you may have done to overcome the obstacles? Would you approach it differently now?
"The life of an Artist is a very complex one, usually the highs are incredibly high and the lows extremely low. I have lived through all of them… I don’t regret any of my mistakes because they made me who I’m today. The only thing I would approach differently is how to relate to others. The music biz is a war zone, people would react much more out of fear than love, so being very tough and selfish could save you a lot of pain and headaches."
Is there any gear you find yourself turning to most when working on a project? Any favorite instruments recently you want to mention?
"I have collaborated with D’Angelico Guitars for a few years now and I have a few Signatures models with them and I truly love them and use them basically in everything I do. I recently started using some preamps from a new company Cranborne Audio, their stuff is brilliant! I use it across the board, form tracking acoustic Jazz to making tracks for Pop and Hip Hop records to cutting vocals."
Do you have any words of wisdom for people who might aspire to get where you are in their own careers?
"Always believe in yourself, nobody else will do that for you. After the storm the sun eventually always shines..."
How long have you been working with headphones, and what inspired you to start including them in your workflow?
"I have worked with headphones since I started my professional recording career 30 years. I have been using Audeze headphones for the the past 10 years in all of my recording projects. I use a few different models depending on what I’m doing. I use a pair of LCD-X for editing and checking out mixes, LCD-XC for tracking and LCD-4z to fully enjoy all the work it took me to make a record or an album when its done!"
